The International Sand Art Festival is organised from December 1 - 5 on the beach of Chandrabhaga, situated at a distance of 3 km from the Konark Temple. The objective of the festival is to showcase sand arts done in different themes by internationally reputed sand artists from all over the world. The festival attracts large number of tourists from around the world.
70 km south-east of Bhubaneswar stands the Sun Temple at Konark, a World Heritage Monument popularly known as the 'Black Pagoda'. Built in 1255 AD, this celestial chariot of the mythical Sun God bears testimony to Odisha’s architectural excellence.
